If a number here doesn’t match the official source, or something is broken or misleading, we want to know. Email corrections@foodstoragecheck.com with:
- the page URL (for example, the food page you were reading);
- what you expected to see, and why — a link to the official source helps;
- a screenshot, if the problem is visual.
What happens next
We check the report against the pinned USDA snapshot (currently v128, retrieved 2026-07-24). Three outcomes are possible:
- Our processing is wrong — a parsing, grouping, or display bug misrepresents the source. We fix it and redeploy.
- The source has changed — USDA published a newer dataset. We re-ingest, revalidate, and update the snapshot noted on every page.
- The source itself seems wrong — we don’t edit official numbers by hand. We’ll note the discrepancy and defer to USDA’s published data, and you can raise it with FoodSafety.gov directly.
