FoodStorageCheck republishes storage guidelines from official U.S. government datasets and computes dates from them. This information is provided for general reference only. It is not medical, health, or professional food-safety advice, and it cannot account for how a specific item was produced, transported, handled, or stored. No statement on this site — including any calculated date — is a representation that a particular food is safe to eat. When in doubt, throw it out.

Storage data originates from the USDA FSIS FoodKeeper dataset, released as public domain (CC0 1.0); provenance details are on the sources page. FoodStorageCheck is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by USDA. Our original text, design, and code are © FoodStorageCheck. You may quote pages with attribution and a link.
Acceptable use
Don’t scrape the site in ways that degrade it for others, misrepresent its content as an official government publication, or strip the qualifications from answers when republishing them.
